Professor Elsie Samaila MFR. Board Chair. She is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and has been actively involved in training eye doctors, social workers and community health workers over the last 40 years. An internationally respected professional she is guiding the organization to meet the needs of the society.
Dr. Sam Ankeli. (BL). Sam is a veterinarian who lost his eyesight but not his vision. He has served in the public sector as a veterinary doctor and later on as a consultant after he lost his eyesight. Presently he serves as the Senior Special Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Disability.
Dr. Dennis Nkanga. He holds a Masters in community eye care from University of London and is a consultant Ophthalmologist. He has been involved in community eye care, rehabilitation projects and human capital development for over 30 years.
Mrs Keturah Aku. She holds a Masters in Geography and Town Planning and is a highly respected administrator, mentor to students, a community leader serving on key educational institution boards and a mother. She brings experience from the education and community development sectors of society to her role as a Trustee.
Andrew Gani-Ikilama. Executive Director/Founder. Andrew first learnt about blindness rehabilitation from one of the best sources on the African continent, his father, Dr Bitrus Gani-Ikilama OON FNSP (1943 to 2011). Andrew is a social studies honors graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School flagship program Strategic Perspectives on Non-profit Management (SPNM) and also holds a Certificate on Project Management with specialization on projects among the disabled from University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. Andrew is an Associate of Nigerian Institute of Management; and Fellow, Institute of Corporate Executives of Nigeria. He is also a two time Fellowship recipient of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) of the United States Government, first was focused on Community Service and NGOs while the second is Alumni Association Development. Andrew also currently serves as Vice President for the US Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter. Andrew is an avid community developer and uses his hobbies to achieve excellent results. He is a senior member of the Nigeria Amateur Radio Society with the call sign 5N9GKA and uses this hobby to mentor young people, be they blind or not. In recognition of his work, he has received Appreciation Award from Baseball Tomorrow Academy (2017), The Award of Excellence of the United States International Visitor Leadership Program Nigeria (2016), and the Helping Hand Award from Haemophilia Foundation of Nigeria (2015) among other awards.
